BIO

Here you can find a few more details about my track record.

In brief: I grew up in Reading, a fairly mundane industrial town close to London, UK. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, but after consuming a hefty dose of (sometimes rather sensationalist) popular science books, physics seemed like a cool place to start.

I secured a place to study physics at the University of Oxford, and after my undergraduate degree I stuck around for a PhD in astrophysics. After graduating I was appointed as a postdoctoral research fellow at All Souls College, one of the constituent colleges of Oxford University.

I spent five years as fellow of this strange and special place, including one year as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA. In 2019 I moved to Queen Mary University of London as a Royal Society University Research Fellow and proleptic lecturer.
